And “The Captain” comes by it naturally. Meredith grew up backstage in the music business, watching her father’s sound company work with some of the biggest names in entertainment. She went from being sung to onstage by Whitney Houston and teaching Bette Midler how to eat crabs to learning firsthand how concerts, artists and life on the road really work.

She eventually took that backstage education to the airwaves, building a radio and television career that has taken her to stations up and down the East Coast. In 2017, she launched Backstage Pass with Meredith Marx, sharing stories and conversations with artists including Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald, Lita Ford, John Oates, Steve Miller Band and longtime family friend Frankie Valli.

Now Meredith has her own ship—and she’s cranking up the stereo.
